Classic Craftsman
Warm woods, tapered columns, deep eaves. The default that fits any neighborhood.
Standard · Included
Our standard finish and the one most families choose. Classic Craftsman leans on the details that have made Craftsman homes beloved for a century: exposed rafter tails, tapered porch columns, deep overhanging eaves, and warm natural wood tones. It settles into established neighborhoods without calling attention to itself, which is exactly why it photographs as 'a real home' rather than 'an addition.'

Best For
Who picks Classic Craftsman?
- ● Older suburban neighborhoods with mature trees and traditional architecture
- ● Homeowners who want the ADU to blend in, not stand out
- ● Resale-conscious builds: Craftsman has the broadest buyer appeal
- ● Aging-parent ADUs (warm, familiar, non-clinical aesthetic)
- Exterior Accents
- Tapered porch columns with stone bases, exposed rafter tails, gable brackets, knee-brace details under the eave, lap siding with a 4–6" exposure.
- Interior Approach
- Light oak or hickory LVP flooring, warm white walls (BM Simply White), shaker cabinets in honey-oak or warm white, brushed-nickel fixtures, butcher-block or quartz countertops with subtle veining.
- Where It Fits Best
- Excellent in: Salinas (older Alisal, Creekbridge), San Jose (Willow Glen, Rose Garden), Los Gatos, Capitola, Pacific Grove, Carmel cottages. Pretty much everywhere: it's the universal donor of California ADU styles.
